Financially
Emotionally
Our Accommodation Centres are an emotional support for families in their time of need, linking them with other support services and people on a similar journey.
Physically
Traditional accommodation poses health risks to patients going through cancer treatment. Chaemotherapy leaves patients without an immune system, meaning they are at significantly higher risk of infection and their body being unable to fight them. Our Centres are designed with strong infection control protocols so families have the best chance of treatment and recovery.
Keeping families together
Fight Cancer Foundation's Accommodation Centres provide a stable, comfortable and welcoming home away from home, relieving patients and their families of some of the financial and emotional burden caused by cancer.
Our dedicated team of carers go above and beyond to help support patients and their families during an uncertain time, aiming to make facing these challenges as easy as possible.
$75 gives a family accommodation - for everyone - for one night.
$128 provides a family’s first night's stay and ‘essentials’ pack.
$225 gives five families an essentials pack to get through their first night in their home-away-from-home.

A home-away-from-home when it's needed most
The emotional and financial toll a cancer diagnosis has on families is devastating. Those who do not live close to a treating hospital face the added challenge of finding somewhere to live while their loved one receives and recovers from treatment.
The need for treatment is often urgent, leaving families with limited time to arrange safe, secure and affordable accommodation. The unknown surrounding treatment and recovery also means families don't know how long they will be away from home. These added challenges can be extremely stressful for families already going through emotional turmoil.

Fight Cancer Foundation
Fight Cancer Foundation is a national charity dedicated to providing care, unique accommodation and support for cancer patients and their families and funding vital research into cancer treatment and cures.
Founded in 1989 as the Bone Marrow Donor Institute to establish Australia’s first bone marrow donor registry and find a cure for leukaemia, the organisation’s broader scope now provides support services for patients impacted by all types of cancer.
Our support services include accommodation for rural and interstate patients accessing major treating hospitals in New South Wales, Tasmania and Victoria, research into better treatments and cures, as well as education support to young learners undergoing cancer treatment.
